A cost-effective solution for contactless fare collection

G&D | MIFARE Ultralight - Contactless Ticketing

MIFARE Ultralight is the basic variant of contactless smartcards from the MIFARE family. It is ideal for single journeys and can replace standard paper or magnetic-strip tickets. The most recent version in the Ultralight range is Ultralight C: the first smartcard for clearly defined uses that has open cryptography. The widely used encryption standard 3DES enables easy integration into existing systems.

Many transport operators and system integrators have recognized the benefits of contactless systems for fare collection, and are implementing G&D’s smartcard technology. In doing so, they are not only providing their customers with a practical tool, but also benefitting from the general advantages of these systems, such as guaranteed income, simple maintenance, and increased security. MIFARE Ultralight allows passengers to board buses more quickly and increases the throughput at underground railway turnstiles. This makes it easier for passengers to change between different forms of transport, while also reducing their travel time.

G&D uses the best possible technology to produce MIFARE Ultralight tickets, including fully automatic integration of flip chips, attractive printing, and final packaging of the card. G&D adapts this production to the specific requests of its customers. The cards are supplied individually, in rolls, or fan-folded.
