SmartàLaCarte is a flexible and powerful platform that enables the operator to provide mobile value-added services (VAS) to all subscribers. It includes the market-leading Dynamic SIM Toolkit (DSTK) platform, SmartTrust Wib – a very lightweight execution platform that supports easy service development. The server system allows mobile services or groups of services to be added or removed remotely for any subscriber. Additionally, remote and dynamic services can be developed using normal Web technology.

Enabling mass-market mobile value through the SIM

Harnessing the SIM’s universal nature, mobile operators can launch value-added and operator-centric services to their entire subscriber base via a standard SIM, independent of handset model. This allows operators to increase usage of existing services and achieve faster time-to-market for new ones, thus boosting revenue and reducing customer care costs. Value-added services are rapidly deployed to subscribers via their handset menus.

Many subscribers do not currently use mobile VAS to the extent possible, so additional revenue potential simply lies in waiting. A limiting factor in usage is that services are not readily available. Subscribers are often required to actively search for, configure, or download the services themselves. With SmartàLaCarte, mobile operators increase usage and enhance the user experience, making mobile services easier to discover, deploy, and personalize. It helps to ensure they are both relevant to the subscriber and adapted to their specific device.
