3GPP
The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is a collaboration agreement that was established in December 1998.
The collaboration agreement brings together a number of telecommunications standards bodies which are known as "Organizational Partners".
The current Organizational Partners are ARIB, CCSA, ETSI, ATIS, TTA, and TTC.
The aim of the 3GPP is to work collaboratively for the production of globally applicable Third Generation Mobile system technical specifications.
The Asia Pacific Smart Card Association (APSCA) is a non-profit, independent association for organisations in the smart card industry in the Asia Pacific region. The Association delivers information, consultancy, guidance and networking to corporations and government organisations, including smart card scheme operators and suppliers.
G&D intends to improve business networking in Asia Pacific with focus on e-ID, e-Passport, e-Health and transport.
European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)
The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is an independent, non-profit organization, whose mission is to produce telecommunications standards for today and for the future. ETSI is officially responsible for standardization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within Europe. These technologies include telecommunications, broadcasting and related areas such as intelligent transportation and medical electronics
EUROSMART is an international association based in Brussels representing all segments of the European smart card industry. EUROSMART was founded with the aim of
promoting smart cards and smart card systems
standardizing smart cards and smart card systems
providing a forum for the exchange of marketing and technical data
defining a consistent range of quality and security levels
lobbying international and national bodies, e.g. by means of permanent relationships with the European institutions in Brussels.
GlobalPlatform is the leading, international association, focused on establishing and maintaining interoperable specifications for single and multi-application smart cards, acceptance devices and systems infrastructure that deliver benefits to issuers, service providers and technology suppliers. These specifications are known as the standard for smart card infrastructure. GlobalPlatform is a member driven association with a growing cross-industry representation from all world continents.
G&D intensively promotes the use of such industry standards and common specifications to create new applications for smart cards. G&D is a full member of the association since 2001 and has deployed GlobalPlatform based products in various projects worldwide.
The Java Card Forum is promoting Java as the favoured programming language for Smart Card applications and focusses on the development and recommendation of specification to Sun Microsystems, Inc.. The Forum's activities are intended to promote the Java Card API specification as an industry standard, reflecting the needs of smart card manufacturers and their customers.
G&D as an active member, is driving this technology since 1996.
G&D is participating in the MasterCard Vendor Program, a global program designed to enhance business relationships between MasterCard Worldwide and the vendors that supply solutions to MasterCard customers around the world.
Participating vendors use the MVP to build their expertise and differentiate their products and services. MasterCard's MVP representatives keep vendors up to date on MasterCard's product and business strategy, aligned with technical requirements and harmonized with the rest of MasterCard.
Mobey Forum is a non-profit, global, financial industry-driven forum, whose mission is to encourage the use of mobile technology in financial services. It was established in May 2000 by a number of world's leading financial institutions and mobile terminal manufacturers. The mission of Mobey Forum is to enable and encourage banks to offer mobile financial services by creating suitable business models through cross-industry collaboration. By being a member in Mobey Forum, G&D will be at the forefront of the development of mobile financial services. Furthermore, G&D can contribute to and influence industry recommendations and take an active role when new trials and implementations are planned and created. The forum also provides an excellent opportunity to interact with the leading industry players.
The MultiMediaCard Association (MMCA) was founded in 1998 to promote the worldwide adoption of a compact, removable standard for storing and retrieving digital information in small, low power devices. In fact, MultiMediaCards are the world’s smallest removable solid-state memory solutions for mobile applications.
With over 100 member companies worldwide, the organization is representing all branches of mobile electronic applications, including semiconductor suppliers, software vendors, and manufacturers of products such as music players, mobile phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), digital cameras, voice recorders, GPS navigation devices and more.
The MMCA develops and regulates open industry standards that define all types of MultiMediaCards, and drives worldwide acceptance of MultiMediaCards as an industry standard across multiple host platforms and markets. The organization aggressively works toward full interchangeability and compatibility (including backward compatibility) between the cards produced by all MMCA members. MultiMediaCards offer an unmatched array of features and benefits, and are becoming the industry standard for compact removable storage media.
As a major provider of smart cards and security solutions, G&D is aiming at building smart card security into MultiMedia cards with appropriate applications. G&D is an affiliated member of the MultiMediaCard Association.
In 2004, the Philips, Nokia, and Sony corporations joined forces to establish the NFC Forum with the aim of advancing near field communications (NFC) technology as a leading open platform for contactless technology.The Forum promotes implementation and standardization of NFC technology, ensuring interoperability between devices and services. G&D is an associate member of the NFC Forum.
Near field communications is based on a combination of contactless identification and wireless interconnection technologies. NFC makes it possible for users of electronic devices to access content and services in an intuitive manner by touching smart objects or to connect devices by simply holding them next to each other. Secure NFC is a combination of NFC and smart cards or modules containing smart card technology. These modules, for example, payment transaction cards or USIM cards from G&D, prevent fraudulent transactions from being carried out via NFC.
G&D sees strong potential for grown in the market for contactless technology in the mobile world of the future. Contactless smart cards from G&D serve as key technological components for safeguarding contactless applications.
The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) delivers open specifications for creating interoperable services that work across countries, operators, fixed and mobile terminals. Driven by users’ needs and the expanding market for data services, the member companies of the Open Mobile Alliance stimulate the adoption of new and enhanced information, communication and entertainment services. The Open Mobile Alliance includes contributors from all key elements of the wireless value chain, and contributes to the timely and efficient introduction of services and applications.
The OSPT Alliance is helping the transit community move toward the next generation of secure, cost-effective, and flexible fare collection solutions through a global, multi-provider community. Their charter is to define a new open standard for secure transit fare collection solutions, while providing industry education, creating workgroup opportunities, and catalyzing the development and adoption of innovative fare collection technologies, applications, and services. They are also building a global ecosystem of transit operators, transit consultants and integrators, technology solution providers, and government agencies to stimulate development and delivery of next-generation fare collection solutions.
The SD Card Association is as a new industry-wide organization charged with setting industry standards and promoting wide acceptance for the SD Memory Card in digital applications. The association aims to establish the technical and specification standards for SD Memory Card applications, to continuously promote the SD memory card as the de-facto industry standard, and to encourage the development of digital A/V, wireless communication, and digital networking products that utilize the many unique benefits of SD technology.
Silicon Trust is a non-profit, membership organization of IT security companies. Silicon Trust’s mission is "to stimulate the understanding, adoption, use and widespread acceptance of silicon-based security solutions in a variety of applications."
G&D is member of the Executive Council and one of the founding sponsors of SECURITY-NEWS.TV. This is a new platform for Silicon Trust.
SIMalliance is (the non-profit trade association) dedicated to supporting the creation, deployment and management of secure mobile services across the globe. Through its working groups the alliance seeks to offer the blueprint to create a secure, open and interoperable environment where mobile services thrive.
Each year SIMalliance brings the mobile industry together at its SIMposium series of events; showcasing new technologies, discussing emerging models and tackling key market challenges and also hosts the annual SIMagine competition, recognising the very best in secure mobile application and service creation.
Its membership is responsible for delivering the most widely distributed mobile application platform in the world (SIM/USIM).

Founded in December 2004 , the Smart Payment Association (SPA) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering and facilitating the usage of smart cards for payment. The SPA is committed to promoting chip card –based payment applications, improving value added application interoperability, establishing relevant specifications and improving security and quality for payment cards. SPA´s main objective is to accelerate the transition from traditional magnetic stripe cards to chip-based cards.
G&D, a leading supplier of electronic payment cards, positions itself again as a technology and solution partner for major international payment schemes such as VISA and Mastercard to support them in the further development of specifications and implementations.
The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is an industry standards body, comprised of computer and device manufacturers, software vendors, smart card manufacturers and others with a stake in enhancing the security of the computing environment across multiple platforms and devices. TCG will develop and promote open industry standard specifications for trusted computing hardware building blocks and software interfaces across multiple platforms, including PC's, servers, PDA's, and digital phones.
As the security leader in smart card technology G&D is promoting the use of security technology since decades and drives the deployment of flexible and secure solutions.
The USB Implementers Forum, Inc. (USB-IF) was established in 1995 to support and accelerate the market and consumer adoption of USB compliant peripherals. Today, the USB-IF has more than 900 member companies and has led the way in helping companies introduce hundreds of USB-compliant products to the market.
G&D is active in this forum since years, to enable and create new Smart Card applications.
